Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers carry a BLACK label. They are designed for use as the primary extinguisher for electrical fires. The CO2 causes the oxygen to be displaced which allows the fire to burn out.

Carbon Dioxide fire extinguishers can also be used on Class B Flammable Liquid fires.
How Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers work
Carbon Dioxide fire extinguishers work by dispersing a stream of CO2 at the burning electrical devices. This disperses oxygen from the surface of the fire, starving it of fuel and extinguishing the fire.
